Cleared.

For OATH registered representatives

Represent NYC property owners at OATH

We help building owners who missed an OATH hearing get a new one and close out the violation. We sign the owner up, file the paperwork and prepare each hearing. You appear, mostly by phone, from a packet with the summons, the evidence and a short script, and record the result after the call.

Pay

Each summons you appear on$75
Each summons from the 41st to the 100th in a month+$10
Each summons from the 101st in a month+$20
Each quarter with no missed appearance and every result recorded the same day+$500

120 summonses in a month pays $10,000. A missed appearance forfeits that month’s volume bonus and that quarter’s reliability bonus. You’re an independent contractor, paid through Stripe, and you choose the weekdays you work and the most summonses you take.

Questions representatives ask

What does Cleared do?

We help NYC property owners with City summonses heard at OATH, starting with Buildings (DOB) summonses where the owner missed the hearing. The owner signs up online, and we file the request for a new hearing, prepare the defense, appear at the new hearing and follow the violation until the City shows it corrected.

We are not a law firm and we don’t give legal advice. Owners are told that plainly, and so is anyone who works with us.

What would I do?

Appear for our clients at their OATH hearings, almost always by phone. Before each hearing you get a packet: the summons, the charge, the evidence the owner sent, the outcome history for that charge, and a short script. After the hearing you record the result. It takes about a minute.

You don’t chase owners for documents, file paperwork or handle payments. We do that.

Do I need to be registered with OATH?

Yes. Anyone who represents more than one respondent a year must be registered with OATH. We verify your registration before your first hearing, and we keep your registration number on file.

Attorneys admitted in New York are welcome too.

How are hearings assigned?

You choose the weekdays you work and the most summonses you take in a month. When OATH sets a hearing date, we assign a representative who works that day and has room. You see every hearing assigned to you, with its date and packet, as soon as it’s set.

We follow OATH’s rules for representatives appearing remotely:

  • One list of summonses per representative per hearing date, sent by noon 3 business days before
  • At most 25 summonses on one date
  • A signed authorization from the respondent on file for every summons

We prepare the list and the authorizations. Nothing is added to your list after it goes to OATH.

How much work is there, and when does it start?

Our first owner mailings go out at the end of October 2026. New hearings usually follow a few weeks after an owner signs up, so the first ones should land around December. We expect several dozen hearings in the first three months, growing from there. It’s part-time work to start, and it can grow with the business.

What do I need?

  • Your OATH registration, or New York bar admission
  • Experience at OATH or ECB hearings, ideally DOB, FDNY or DEP matters
  • A phone line and a laptop or tablet for hearings by phone
  • A few weekday mornings a month to start
